The most exciting game of round 7 in the LNB took place in Puerto Plata. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 4th placed Marineros (4-5) to third ranked Indios (4-4) 91-90 on Tuesday evening. It was a great evening for American guard KamRon Blue (201-2000, college: Coppin St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 23 points and 5 rebounds. Luismal Ferreiras (200-2003) helped adding 14 points and 12 rebounds. At the losing side American forward Sydney Curry (203-2000, college: GCU, agency: JCK Sports Group) responded with 20 points and 9 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Indios maintains third place with 4-4 record having just three points less than leader Metros, which they share with Leones and Reales. Marineros lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth position with five games lost. They share it with Titanes. Indios is looking forward to face Leones (#3) in Santo Domingo in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Marineros will play at home against Soles and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Santo Domingo: Soles (#8) and Leones (#7). Soles (3-6) crushed visiting Leones (4-4) by 18 points 101-83. It was an exceptional evening for Dimas Carrasco who led the winners and scored 15 points. Tristan Jarrett accounted for 16 points. point guard Jaison Valdez (188-1995) came up with 17 points and 5 rebounds for Leones in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Soles maintains eighth place with 3-6 record. Leones at the other side dropped to the third position with four games lost. They share it with Indios and Reales. Soles will play against higher ranked Marineros (#7) in Puerto Plata in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Leones will play on the road against Indios (#5) in San Francisco and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game between Top Four teams took place in La Romana. First ranked host Caneros (5-3) defeated their biggest opponent Metros (6-3) 107-95. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Yeison Colome fired 27 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Tu Holloway produced 25 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists for lost side. Metros' coach Melvyn Lopez rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Despite that victory Caneros went down to second position due to points difference. Loser Metros still keep top place with three games lost. Caneros will meet Reales (#4) in the next round. Metros will play against Titanes in San Cristobal and hope to secure a win.
In the last game of round 7 Titanes lost to Reales on the opponent's court 80-93.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 20 points by Gerardo Suero of Leones.
